ABB offers a comprehensive range of automation products, all of which deliver powerful functionality across various industrial sectors. Today, we focus on Procontic and AC500 PLCs.
Below is a historical overview of Procontic:
1981: ABB launched the revolutionary Procontic product family, considered one of the first PLCs on the market to offer distributed I/O.
1982: Procontic T 300 was introduced, offering advanced programming languages such as Pascal, Fortran, and C.
1989: Procontic T 200 was widely used in infrastructure applications and deployed extensively as a data collector.
Early 1990s: The Procontic family launched its last product, CS 31. The series then underwent restructuring and upgrades. For example, in 1994, the CS 31 platform was upgraded to the Advant Controller AC 31.
2005: ABB launched the all-new AC500 PLC platform, marking a new era for the product line.
The entire AC500 PLC series continues to safeguard the global industrial economy.
