S900 I/O system core function
Signal acquisition in the field and hazardous areas: The S900 system is specifically designed for direct installation in industrial sites, and it can even be deployed in challenging Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous areas (i.e., flammable and explosive environments). It can safely handle safe signals from on-site sensors, such as analog (4-20mA), digital, thermal resistance (RTD), thermocouple (TC), and HART intelligent instrument signals.
Simplifying engineering and saving costs: By installing I/O modules separately at the site, the S900 system significantly reduces the extensive and complex wiring from on-site equipment to the central control room. For example, in a chemical project, it helps users significantly reduce on-site wiring, thereby accelerating the project commissioning speed.
Seamless system integration: It uses the standard PROFIBUS DP-V1 fieldbus protocol to communicate with upper-level control systems (such as ABB's System 800xA DCS, or other brands' DCS, PLC, SCADA). This means it can be used as a universal remote I/O unit and flexibly integrated into various industrial automation systems.
