Core Benefits

In the eddy current displacement/vibration measurement system, the sensor usually consists of three parts: the probe, the extension cable, and the preamplifier. As one of these components, its function is as follows:

Extension connection: The main function of the EC153 is to connect the probe installed inside the equipment (such as a turbine or compressor) with the preamplifier installed far away from the equipment (usually installed in a guide rail or junction box).

Signal transmission: It is responsible for transmitting the high-frequency signals sensed by the probe without distortion to the preamplifier for processing. It must match the impedance of the probe and the preamplifier completely to ensure the overall accuracy and stability of the system.

Length matching: The length of the extension cable is part of the total length of the system. The length of the probe's cable + the length of the extension cable = the total length of the preamplifier calibration (usually 5 meters or 9 meters). If the lengths do not match, the sensitivity and linearity of the measurement system will be incorrect.
