De-energisation Operating Principle
During normal operation, triggering the SCR establishes a conductive path, allowing the field current to flow through the field discharge inductor, thereby dissipating magnetic field energy.
Should SCR triggering fail, an overvoltage trigger backup mechanism is provided: the SCR automatically triggers when the anode-gate voltage exceeds the threshold of the connected turn-off diode string.
