Notice of Installation
Installation and Wiring
Installation: Modules are typically installed on standard FTA racks or rails. Ensure a secure installation, suitable for industrial environments with potential vibrations.
Wiring Specifications:
It is recommended to use shielded twisted-pair cables, and single-ended ground the shielding layer on the control cabinet side to effectively suppress electromagnetic interference.
Signal lines should be laid separately from power cables and high-voltage cables, avoiding parallel runs to prevent coupling interference.
For 4-20mA circuits, ensure stable and reliable external circuit power supply.
Pre-power-on Inspection
Physical Inspection: Confirm that all terminal connections are secure, correct, and without short circuits or looseness.
Insulation Test: Under power-off conditions, check the insulation resistance of the signal lines to ground, meeting the system requirements.
System Configuration: On the Honeywell DCS engineer station, complete the corresponding hardware configuration, including module model, channel signal type (current/voltage), range, alarm limits, etc., parameter settings.
Operation and Maintenance
Signal Verification: It is recommended to conduct precision verification of critical circuits' signals on a regular basis (e.g., every 18 months).
Status Monitoring: Monitor the real-time values and status of each channel through the DCS system, and use the module's diagnostic function to detect faults such as broken lines and over-range issues early.
Maintaining safety: Although hot swapping is supported, before operation, the process risks must be evaluated, and the operation must be carried out strictly in accordance with the operating procedures to avoid generating instantaneous interference that affects production.
