The SEC401-51 is the ESB bus coupler for Yokogawa’s ProSafe-RS safety system, providing high-speed communication bridging between safety I/O modules and SCUs to ensure data determinism and fault-safe communication.
A fixed-period CRC check mechanism is employed to ensure error-free data transmission and predictable timing, meeting SIL 3 requirements for communication integrity.
The SCU dual-redundancy architecture is adapted to ProSafe-RS, enabling seamless primary/backup failover and improving the availability of secure links.

Application and Selection Guidelines
Suitable Scenarios: Suitable for SIL 3 safety circuits in petrochemical ESD systems, fire and gas systems (F&G), power BMS, and chemical reactor safety interlocks.
Selection Tips: Configure for a minimum of 9 safety nodes. If more are required, couplers must be cascaded.
Redundant systems must be configured in pairs to ensure no single point of failure in the communication link.
Installation Specifications: Use shielded twisted-pair cables for the ESB bus, with a length ≤ 10m. Avoid laying cables parallel to power cables.
Rack power supply must be redundantly configured to ensure stable power supply to the couplers and I/O modules.
