What is the KVC757A main function
The KVC757A performs the following key functions in the system:
IGBT Gate Drive Signal Interface
Receives the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control signal (low-voltage logic signal) from the main control board (RDCU).
Convert these signals into high-power and fast switching signals suitable for driving the gate of IGBT.
The signals are transmitted via optical fibers to each IGBT gate drive board, thereby enabling the power module to be turned on or off.
Gate Drive Power Management
Generate and monitor multiple isolated power supplies (such as +15V / -15V or +20V / -5V) that supply the gate drive circuit of IGBT.
These power supplies are used to supply power to each IGBT driver board within the power cabinet. If the power supply malfunctions, the module will trigger a fault.
Fault Detection and Protection
Receive and process the feedback signals from the IGBT gate drive board, such as:
Vce saturation detection (de-saturation detection): Determines whether the IGBT is short-circuited or has an overcurrent.
Under-voltage lockout: Detects whether the gate drive voltage is too low.
Fiber link status: Monitors whether communication is interrupted.
When a fault is detected, it immediately reports to the main control board via the internal bus and performs protection actions such as soft shutdown.
High and low voltage electrical isolation
Using optical fibers and isolation transformers, the control section (low voltage) and the power section (medium voltage) are isolated to ensure the safety of operators and the control circuit.
