PNI800 is a factory control network interface module designed to connect host computers to the Symphony Plus PN800 redundant control Ethernet, enabling bidirectional, real-time data exchange between host PCs and SPC600/SPC700/SPC800/HPC800 controllers. Essentially, the PNI800 serves as a hardware gateway connecting PC workstations to this redundant control network.

Key Functions

Engineering stations (S+ Engineering), operator stations (S+ Operations), and Harmony OPC Servers must connect to the DCS control network via the PNI800 module to read/write controller real-time data, download programs, and perform online monitoring.

The PNI800 features built-in real-time data services, supporting up to 10 SPE client connections and 30,000 HMI tags. It uploads process variables, alarms, and status information from controllers to operators while simultaneously downloading operator commands and setpoints to the Symphony controllers.

Engineers use the PNI800 to connect to SPC/HPC controllers for tasks such as online hardware configuration, control logic downloading, online monitoring, variable forcing, and fault diagnostics.

The module is equipped with two Ethernet ports connecting to the PN800 Network A and Network B, respectively. Leveraging the PRP protocol, it ensures seamless communication switching in the event of a single cable or switch failure without losing real-time data, meeting the rigorous demands of critical process environments such as thermal and hydroelectric power plants. It also provides external Harmony OPC interface channels.
