Key Function
UFC921A101 is compatible with ACS1000/2000/5000/6000 and other medium and high voltage frequency converters. It serves as the main control interface board to connect the control unit and the power module, enabling the monitoring and control of the power unit.
The functions are as follows:
- Master communication hub
The Masterbus 300 communication serves as the core link between the frequency converter and the upper system, supporting up to 16 node interconnection to achieve high-speed data transmission and command issuance. The multi-protocol compatibility integrates PROFIBUS DP, Ethernet, etc. interfaces to build a flexible control architecture.
- Signal interaction and processing
It collects on-site sensor signals (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.), outputs control instructions to actuators, and completes the bidirectional conversion of analog and digital quantities.
The signal conditioning is achieved through built-in filtering and shielding circuits to suppress industrial site electromagnetic interference, ensuring signal accuracy and guaranteeing control stability.
- Control and firmware collaboration
This board comes with pre-installed ACS series dedicated firmware when it leaves the factory. There is no need for additional burning. Power-on can match the frequency converter control logic, supporting advanced algorithms such as vector control and direct torque control (DTC), thereby achieving real-time control, including speed adjustment, torque control, protection against overcurrent/overvoltage/overheating/undervoltage, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the motor.
An important point is that firmware upgrades can be implemented. The upgrade method can be through DriveWindow software or a storage card to upgrade the firmware, fix bugs, support new hardware, and enhance functions (such as adding communication protocols, optimizing control algorithms).
- Self-diagnosis and maintenance
It monitors its own status in real time. When a fault occurs, it generates alarm codes to assist in quickly locating the problem (such as communication interruption, I/O failure, firmware anomaly).
The hot-swappable design facilitates engineers to replace the board without stopping the system during maintenance, directly replacing the board, significantly reducing system downtime and improving equipment utilization.
Key points to note
The ACS series-specific firmware must be used. It is strictly prohibited to mix it with other versions of firmware such as the excitation system firmware. Doing so may cause the board to fail to start. During firmware upgrade, power must not be cut off. It is recommended to use an UPS to ensure power supply. Before upgrading, it is necessary to back up the parameters to avoid data loss.
All these actions must ensure that the board has been installed in the control cabinet. It is necessary to avoid environments with humidity, dust, and strong electromagnetic interference to ensure long-term stable operation.
