Application
Impedance Change Signal
The eddy current sensor probe paired with CON031 contains an internal coil. During operation, the coil generates an alternating magnetic field under the influence of alternating current. When the probe approaches a rotating metallic shaft-type test object, eddy currents are induced on the object's surface. These eddy currents form a counter-magnetic field that interacts with the probe's original magnetic field, causing changes in the coil's impedance. Parameters such as shaft displacement and vibration alter the distance between the probe and the test object, causing corresponding variations in the coil's impedance. These impedance changes constitute the raw signal reflecting the measured parameters, which is transmitted to the CON031 preamplifier.
Signal Conditioning and Parameter Calibration
The CON031 incorporates adjustable circuits and processing modules. Upon receiving impedance variation signals from the probe, it first conditions the signals through oscillation circuits, detection circuits, etc. This converts high-frequency impedance variation signals into easily processable voltage signals. It supports manual configuration of different sensitivities (e.g., 4V/mm or 8V/mm) and corresponding linear ranges to calibrate signal conversion accuracy. This adapts to monitoring requirements under various operating conditions while compensating for signal errors caused by environmental interference.
Conversion to Standard Industrial Signals and Output
The conditioned signal is not a standard industrial signal and cannot be directly recognized by downstream control systems or monitoring instruments. The CON031 further converts it into standard signals like 4-20mA current signals or RS485 digital signals. The final output signal superimposes an AC voltage signal proportional to shaft vibration onto a DC voltage base. Backend equipment can read these standard signals to precisely obtain key parameters of the measured shaft, such as radial/axial displacement, eccentricity, and rotational speed.
