The two models have distinct roles: the MPC4MK2 handles signal processing, algorithmic calculations, and alarm logic, while the IOC4MK2 manages external interfaces, power supply, relays, and configuration storage. In a hot-swappable redundant system, the unit supports hot-swapping; the IOC4MK2 retains the configuration and automatically restores it, ensuring that monitoring continues without interruption.
