ABB UNS2882A-P,V1 is also called COB control board, its compatible with AC800M / System 800xA DCS platforms.
UNS2880A-P is the main control board for the UNITROL 5000 excitation regulator. It handles functions such as voltage regulation, PID control, closed-loop excitation control, protection logic, and pulse generation, while also participating in signal processing and fault diagnostics. Equipped with multi-protocol communication gateways—including Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet-IO, CEX-Bus, and OPC UA—it operates as an independent parallel processing unit within the 800xA/AC800M system. This helps alleviate the load on the main CPU (PM866/PM867) by executing complex PID loops, integration operations, and batch processing, thereby reducing the main controller's scan cycle time.
The card operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 55°C and has a storage temperature range of -40°C to 70°C.
It is powered via a 24V DC backplane with a power consumption of approximately 15W, supporting a wide input voltage range of 18–30V DC.
Interfaces include dual 10/100M Ethernet ports, a CEX backplane bus, and isolated RS485 Modbus-RTU; it features an onboard backup clock battery and multi-status diagnostic LEDs (indicating power, run status, network activity, and bus faults).
