Selection and Usage Notes
Differentiation from the 3500/50 Module: Note that the 3500/50 speed module is not used for overspeed protection. Where overspeed protection is required, the 3500/53 module must be used.
System Configuration Recommendations: The official recommendation is a three-channel "3-choose-2" voting system. This configuration requires two of the three channels to simultaneously detect an overspeed before a shutdown is triggered, preventing both false trips and false trips, providing maximum safety.
Redundant Power Supply Required: To ensure the absolute reliability of the overspeed protection system, the 3500 frame in which the 3500/53 is installed must be equipped with a redundant power supply.
