The AAR145-S50 is a 16-channel RTD/Polypotentiometer (POT) input module from Yokogawa, compatible with Yokogawa’s CENTUM VP and FIO systems. It is primarily used for the precise acquisition of physical quantities such as temperature in industrial settings.

16 isolated channels, each with independent selection of RTD or POT signal input; Supports three-wire PT100 RTD conforming to JIS C 1604:1997 and IEC 751:1995 standards; POT signals are compatible with devices with a total resistance of 100Ω - 10kΩ.

The POT span resistance must be no less than 50% of the total resistance. RTD temperature drift is ±0.3Ω/10°C, and POT temperature drift is ±0.4%/10°C.

The data update cycle is fixed at 1 second, ensuring stable output of acquired data.

Working principle

The signal access and isolation transmission module is connected to the on-site PT100 RTD and POT devices via a dedicated cable. All 16 channels are equipped with independent electrical isolation designs. This design can prevent signal interference between different channels and isolate electromagnetic noise in industrial sites, ensuring that the temperature-related resistance signals transmitted by RTD and the position or pressure resistance signals transmitted by POT can be stably transmitted into the module. The signal conversion and precise measurement module initiates corresponding measurement mechanisms for different types of input signals, supplies a constant current of 1mA to the RTD signal, and indirectly acquires the corresponding temperature information by detecting the resistance changes caused by the current flowing through the RTD. For the POT signal, the physical quantities such as displacement and Angle of the on-site equipment are analyzed by detecting the change in its resistance value. During the process, the signal will be calibrated according to the preset accuracy standard to correct the error. When the fault detection and data processing module is in operation, it continuously executes the burn-out detection process. If faults such as damage to RTD or POT components or line disconnection occur, the fault identification will be completed within 60 seconds. Meanwhile, the module summarizes and organizes the measurement data of the 16 channels at a fixed period of 1 second, converting the original resistance signals into digital signals recognizable by the system. The digital signals after data upload and system linkage processing will be transmitted to the supporting control systems such as Yokogawa CENTUM VP or FIO. Staff can read real-time data through the control system. When the data exceeds the preset threshold, the system can promptly issue an alarm signal. In addition, the isolation design of the module and its stable data transmission capability also provide reliable data support for the back-end control system to issue adjustment instructions and ensure the stability of the industrial production process.
